What Floats Your Boat?

Students designed and built boats in teams. The materials they had were a plastic cup, a styrofoam cup, straws, toothpicks, clay, paper and foil. The boats were tested in water to see how many pennies they could hold. The winning team's boat held 127 pennies!

Changes in Spelling

There will be a change in Spelling tests for the remainder of the year.  Instead of students having 16 spelling words, there will be only 10 words.  These words come from a "frequently misspelled words" list.  They will be expected to spell all 10 words correctly and define 5 of these words.  They have the choice on which 5 they want to define.

Apple Experiment

6th graders are observing a science experiment about germs. The apple slice on the left was put directly into the jar. The other slice was passed around the room touching each student's hands.
